When the Lord made Adam,
He kneaded naught but clay.
He cast his form and breathed in life,
Within a single day.
But when the Lord made thee,
He put in all time past.
He gathered gems from all the earth,
To make the fairest lass.
He took pure snow from the tallest mount,
And foam from the deep blue sea.
And he spun from them the softest skin,
With a lovely silken sheen.
Then he cast the light of the setting sun,
On a poor man's field of wheat,
And drew from it a crown of hair,
That shone with the fiercest heat.
For eyes, he sought two still small pools,
In a wild forest glade,
That filled with waters from secret depths,
And glowed an emer
Love is life - a radiant light,
Which naught can quench the lasting might.
For this light sprung not of rising dawn,
And what always was, goes ever on.
This life eternal is that great truth,
With steadfastness as shining proof.
For while much will fail and pass away,
Truth is that which never fades.
Oh how precious that thawing light,
To the frozen soul of mine heart's night.
True love, new life - a shining pearl,
Worth more to me than all the world.
Love is like a river,
It is mean't to flow,
To be ever filling, though always full.
We are like pools,
In this river of love,
All tied together in a lengthening chain.
And God flows among us,
And lives in each one,
And over us all,
He rains.
When the Lord made Adam,
He kneaded naught but clay.
He cast his form and breathed in life,
Within a single day.
But when the Lord made thee,
He put in all time past.
He gathered gems from all the earth,
To make the fairest lass.
He took pure snow from the tallest mount,
And foam from the deep blue sea.
And he spun from them the softest skin,
With a lovely silken sheen.
Then he cast the light of the setting sun,
On a poor man's field of wheat,
And drew from it a crown of hair,
That shone with the fiercest heat.
For eyes, he sought two still small pools,
In a wild forest glade,
That filled with waters from secret depths,
And glowed an emer
Well, I've done a very wee bit of drawing and stuff over the years but I've never taken art very seriously despite seemingly having a raw knack for it. However the yearning to draw and paint has always been there. Anyway, something's come up and now I have a reason to start getting good at it so I guess this is going to be a journal of growth. Lets hope I keep it up and get to where I want to be. It'll mostly all be pencil work to begin with I'm afraid, so no colour for a while. Then I'll start trying colouring pencils I guess.

Wow thanks very much for the inspiring comments, it means a lot to me . I've been thing of a few more lost world ideas i could try out like an ape-man one or of a few of the different kinds of dinosaurs on the plateau. Thanks again for showing your support, i'm very grateful to have people like you showing an interest in my work.
You've only got five deviations so far and already you've proved worth keeping an eye on. Your pretty talented and (from my point of view) have a good taste of subject. I really like that T-Rex one - it's pretty original.
